Kate Anderson leads the Technical Assessment and Screening Group within the Energy Analysis and Decision Science Directorate of the U.S. DOE National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Kate leads a team of technical experts supporting federal, state, and local entities with techno-economic modeling and analysis, field assessments, design, and implementation of energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE) opportunities. Kate’s work includes providing technical assistance and deployment guidance on EE and RE technologies to meet aggressive energy goals, conducting renewable energy screenings, developing net zero energy strategies for military bases, valuing energy security, and evaluating PV interconnection solutions and PV deployment. Before joining NREL, Kate conducted missile defense system testing and launched research satellites for the United States Air Force. She has degrees in Aerospace Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems Technology and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Mexico.
